Gawad Kalinga is an organization started about 7 years ago. They started out focused on building projects and are most well known for that, but recently they’re moving more into Social Entrepreneurship.
I visited a site in Bulacan where they plan on setting up a sort of showcase site for entrepreneurs and their products who are focused on building up the poor communities of the Philippines. On the drive there, I had a chance to sit with the founder, Tony Meloto and a couple of recent graduates from Ateneo University (one of the top in the Philippines), who are planning to develop their own social enterprise using the guidance and network of Gawad Kalinga.

Hi Philip.
I am Rey, your mom’s neighbor in Lexington, SC. Welcome to Manila, Philippines. I have watched all your videos and I am glad that you are enjoying your stay in Manila. It’s where I was born and my father was born in Bulacan. Filipinos are friendly and hospitable people. Have you tried the “chocolate pork” yet?
If you want to see the mountains, go to Baguio City. It’s the summer capital of the Philippines. Take care and travel safe.
Rey
