Yesterday I went with some Catholic nuns to a squatter village in the center of Quezon City, Metro Manila. It’s not the worst that I’ve seen, and the kids were all full of joy and laughter, but they have lots of problems. The nuns there have had a constant presence in the community for over 10 years, and the kids obviously really appreciate them. I was lucky that they let me join them in their Saturday activity time.
